Uterine fibroids are abnormal growths that develop in and around the uterus. These benign (non-cancerous) tumors grow from the muscle layers of the uterus and can vary from the size of a bean to being as large as a melon. Uterine Fibroids are pretty common with women in the age groups 30 and 50 years of age. These fibroids when grow larger in size cause severe pain and discomfort. Such symptoms may include:

- Visible swelling in the lower abdomen.
