LAPROSCOPIC MYOMECTOMY
Uterine fibroids are the most common benign (non-cancerous) tumors occurring in women in the reproductive age group. Myomectomy is the surgical procedure to remove leiomyomas (myomas or fibroids), from the wall of the uterus. Unlike a hysterectomy, which is the procedure to remove the entire uterus, a myomectomy removes only the fibroids without removing the uterus. Laparoscopic myomectomy is majorly required if the uterine fibroids cause the following problems:
- Cause heavy bleeding and the bleeding does not respond to medicines
- Severe abdominal pain during periods
- Causing infertility
- Difficulty in urinating
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Frequent urinating
